While trying to diagnose a popping sound I have been getting in the left front, I thought to check the rack and pinion mounts , too.

I did get a video of the rack in pinion while I turned the wheels from lock to lock. I do see the shaft move.
Should there be any movement at all? If so how much, and does it look like mine is too much?

 

there will be a little flex from the bushing but yours does seem excessive.
