I am thinking of using IPod together with my 2001 Radio and came over this ad (see below) for AAI-GM9 auxiliary audio input which I understand that I need first of all. From the text it seems like it requires the slave unit to actaully play contineously for the aux unit to work?? Does this mean that i need to have my slave tape player to play when using AAI-GM9, or is it enough to choose TAPE on the Radio panel??
Requirements: The sedan or SUV/truck factory headunit must have a separate working slave unit which uses the GM 9 pin connector (1995-2002 vehicles). Slave unit examples are: external CD changer, cassette player and/or single CD player. Please note that the slave unit must continuously be playing for the AAI-GM9 to work.
