4x4 LTZ w/ Nav Radio

Driving down the road listening to the radio and it makes this loud zapping noise and the sound cuts out. A couple seconds later the radio sound comes back like everything is normal. This has happened 3 or 4 times in the 20k miles. First few times I thought it was the radio station but I think it's the Nav radio now. Anyone else have or know about this gremlin?

Oh yeah, completely stock w/ no lockpick gizmo's. Only gizmo is my IPOD connected to the plug in port provided.

 

Will it do this on all bands (AM, FM and XM)?
What about if you are listening to a CD or your iPod will it cut out then as well?

 

I have only heard it while listening to the FM Radio. Never the Ipod. There is no other issue with the vehicle. After thinking about it, it sounds as if there is a problem with the amp that goes out and then restarts. It's only been a few times so I'm not real concerned about it needing repair yet, just wanted to see if anyone else may have experienced this. It's still by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. Friend pulled into a parking lot behind me today and told me how much he loved my truck. Made me pretty happy.

 

I have a 2007 LTZ with Nav.It has also done the same thing a few times. Wewere listening to XMwhen it happened.

 

I knew I wasn't crazy.

 

Same thing happened to me a few times. The first time it scared the crap out of me so much that I almost crashed!!! No joke!!

 

Add me to the list. I only listen to xm and that is where I noticed it. I happens daily and started about two weeks ago
