Default Rear Bow-Tie removal?

Does anybody know if I can remove the rear Bow-Tie emblem from my 2011 Suburban and just leave it off, or is there something under it that won't look right?

I usually don't mind the bow-tie, but this thing is too big and too "gold" on a black truck!

Thanks....

I believe there is holes underneath. You can carefully remove the gold portion the clean off the glue. You will have a all chrome bow tie left. Use a credit card or fishing line. Many people on this site have done that. You other option is to remove it (bolted on must remove interior panel) and paint it black with plastic paint.

MD-
Oh, maybe that's even better than removing it!

Does anyone here have a shot of that?

I agree! You should paint it black to match the rest of the vehicle! You could even leave the small chrome edge around the outside of the bow tie if you wanted.

Not my images, but here's a couple of pictures I found doing a quick google search. I know the one vehicle isn't black, but you get the idea.
