Rear A/C is on when the Tahoe is off
This usually happens when I been running around alot.I shut the Tahoe off and the rear a/c is not even on but when I come back the Tahoe is off and the rear A/C is on full blast. Anyone have a similar problem or a fix?

RE: Rear A/C is on when the Tahoe is off
I was reading thru the aux battery / dead battery post and found this by Tahoe07 perhaps having the reprograming done may resolve this issue...just a thought
"According to Dave, AKA zx, there is a ton of draw on the battery when you simply open the door.A miriad of systems start up to prepare for operation. I have had my Tahoe for a year and and month. During the first four or five months it happened 5 times. Of course the battery replacement was the first attempt at a fix. I also kept a diary of systemsI used during the day. They tested the draw on the vehicle. The right set of circumstances never occurred while at the dealer. Nothing seemed to identify or fix the problem. GM suggested my 15 minute commute might be too short to charge the battery.I had mine go dead after sitting for about two hours in my garage after havebeen driven for over an hour straight.
They tried one final thing.
HVAC reprogram-- It seemed to fix the problem. They believed that something in the system did not allow the vehicle to go into sleep mode after the required time.
I'll look up the paperwork. I have had no problems since... "

How long will the fan run?
Will the fan shut off then start back up after a few minutes and then eventually go off and stay off?

73shark,
Are you saying that the truck is shut off and the rear A/C fan is still running?
Yes.

Do you have the rear passenger controls off or on when it happens?
Yes.

How long will the fan run?
Untill I put my Key in the Tahoe and turn it to the ON position and turn it back off.

Fan stays on.

What year is your Tahoe?
How long have you let the fan sit and run before turning the key back on?
The reason for the questions is that there is a program that can be activated that will keep the A/C system from growing mildew and getting stinky, it does this by running the fan a few times for several minutes to dry the evaporator after the A/C has been run and the vehicle shut off, I'm trying to determine if this program has been enabled.

Are you kidding me they really have a system to prevent mildew build up?!?!? They paid someone good money to think that up but couldn't figure out the lint issue on the seats pre-production... I wonder sometimes if when they retool for a new line they throw out what they learned in the past with the old equipment...
