Unhappy Rear Driver Side Window Basically Fell into Door

What should I do here? Yesterday the rear driver side window wouldn't roll down whether I tried from the main control on the driver door or from the actual door that is having the problem. I could hear the motor running when the button was depressed but the window wouldn't budge. Today, the window just fell into the door. We weren't attempting to roll the window down and hadn't tried since yesterday. I don't hear the motor any longer.

I'm afraid to call Chevy --just walking in the door is too expensive for me

You'll have to remove the door panel to diagnosis the problem. Don't know if Chevy still uses the old "scissor" linkage or a plastic, geared strip. Once you get the panel off, it should be apparent as to what's wrong.

Window regulators are a known issue on your style truck. It's a relatively simple fix, and window regulators are common and cheap online. I've had to replace two in my '01 Burb. Removing the interior door panel is straightforward. Plenty of how-to videos on youtube.
