Default rear emblem question 09 LTZ

Hello all! I just bought an 09 LTZ Thurday night and already I'm altering it! I did a search and pulled up where some other members had "peeled" the gold off the rear emblem revealing the chrome underneath. The thread I read was based off an 07 model. Will this still work on my 09 and does anyone have pics of this done. What is the best source for a chrome emblem for the front grill too? Thanks!

Just be careful removing the gold portion of the bowtie as the chrome underneath is on plastic and scratches easily. Dental floss or monofilament fishing line to cut the adhesive used to bond it on works best.

congrats, i have mine for a little more than a month. I was going to remove mine but the white needs a little "break" in the white/chrome combo imo. And believe me I HATE the GM gold bowtie. I switched them out on my Trailblazer SS for chrome but that truck is silver. Maybe down the road but for now i'm keeping it. I did remove the flex fuel emblem though.

As for removal i would try a blow dryer, or if you know what you're doing a heat gun on low heat from a foot away wil heat it up and it'll come right off. Just make sure when you peel the gold part up you either put a piece of rubber of cloth that is tightly woven so the gold plastic wont rub the chrome/plastic underneath.

Well got the rear one off pretty easily but the fishing line still left marks in it so I ordered chrome replacements from stylin concepts. Got the front one on and it looks awesome. Rear one coming. I'll post some pics when its all done!
