Default Rear Emblem for 2007 Tahoe

I bought one at autoaccessories4u and was about to install it. But before I took off the old one, I peeled off the gold logo, w/ a small screw driver, that was only stuck on by double sided tape. What I found was a perfect chrome emblem and all I had to do was clean off the excess tape. Now I wish I didn't buy the emblem but at least I have one just in case.

Has anyone else tried this? Any comments? I hope it doesn't rust!!!

Thanks!

no way really. .there's no holes behind it.. thanks alot man. I'm about to do that. I was also thinking of just removing the front one, and fulling the holes with somethign and putting liek a chrome tape over it so that it's flatter.. i don't like how much the front one sticks out

I wouldn't recommend doing that to the front because it's such a big thing to fill. The tape you're talking about will not be thick enough.

I'll take pictures of the rear emblem and you all can decide for yourselves!

Thanks!

Remember, all I took out was the gold piece.

Here are a few pics...

I started to pull mine off last night. I was able to get the gold to lift a bit. When when I looked under the gold part it looked like everything was pulling up. Is the chrome bowtie under the gold. Is that held on by double sided tape too? I am not talking about the base where it comes in contact with the paint. Just the gold part...

Exactly!!! It's glued so maybe using something to heat it up may work. It'll actually peel off pretty easily and you'll have to clean it up since there will be excess glue. Just make sure you use a soft cloth and windex so that you don't scratch it.

Houston I have a problem!! I tried it again last night. It seems when I start to lift one of the corner of the gold bow tie it is lifting it all off. So I think if I pulled it off only the base would be left. It seems like the gold plastic part and the chrome part under it will not come apart. Is this normal? Suggestions?
