Default Rear Wiper Motor

2002 Suburban,

I replaced the wiper motor with an ebay motor that was new.

It worked fine for a month and now just clicks. It moves some times but just an inch or two. With it on, i can move the wiper arm with my hand and it will work for a bit, then stop and juct click again.

When the rear Defogger is on with the rear wiper, the ckicking stops (the rear defogger isnt working either). I turn off the defogger and the clicking starts again.

I think the wiper motor is a piece of crap and broke again. Any suggestions.

Curt

Here is an update,

I replaced the rear Wiper Motor with one from Advance Auto. Still not working but the same clicling noise. It's like the motor does not have enough power to run the wiper.

Anything, anyone, admin someone, pls!!

Try to actuate the linkage w/o the motor connected to ensure that it's not binding. If it's not, then check motor and ensure that it runs w/o being connected. If both OK, then maybe the mounting of the motor is somehow binding the linkage.

OK, I removed the motor from the rear door. I attached the wire and hit the switch. The motor ran, but struggled to complete a full turn. Both motors did this, existing motor and new motor. I ran both motors with the protective covers off. Nothing was jamming the gears.

Sounds like both motors went Tango Uniform.

I replaced my wiper motor because it had just up and quit but the new one didn't work either..ended up being a short in the harness up in the headliner right by the rear panel door.
