Default Remote fobs

I just bought a 96 Sub and I was wondering how you can tell if a remote will work on this particular Sub.
Is there something to look for in the RPO codes?

It's easiest to just get the codes off the back of an existing fob. Match the codes, and you know it'll work with your vehicle.

I want to find out if this particular Sub is remote capable. Did it come with that option? Are they all remote ready? It does have electric locks, but does that mean a remote will work this Sub?

If my memory is correct, jumping pin 4 to pin 8 will retrieve the power lock mode, which will make the locks engage twice. The port is under the steering wheel column @ the dash area. This is the 1st procedure when you program a new fob.
There is also a site where you can enter VIN# and it will give you the option codes..........google/or YouTube ? good luck

I have all my RPO codes deciphered and printed out. Reading thru them, I dont see anything that relates to remote fob capabilities , but not sure what the language would be.
