Removing bugs
Have a 2007 black Tahoe thatI take quite frequently to northern Michigan. I get a ton of dead bugs on the grill, cowling, etc which I have a heck of a time getting off. Anyone have any experience with this and can recommend the best ways to get this stuffoff?. I know there are a lot of productsfor this but thought I'd check here first.

RE: Removing bugs
I use "Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover" from AutoZone. Just spray it on the spot and let it sit for like 20 or 30 seconds then wipe off with a clean rag. Occasionally I'll need to go back over a few times depending on how bad the tar, or big the bug was .
So far I've used it on two past cars and now the HOE and no problems. I have Summite White so they show up pretty well, hence my cleaning the bugs ALOT.
Hope this helps

Great!....gonna run up there right now to get some....thanks!
By the way....my other favorite color for a Tahoe besides black is white...don't seem to see a lot of them but they look fantastic.

I fully concur with the Turtle Wax bug remover... and if you can get your hands on a pressure washer, i'd recommend it. I spray on the bug remover, leave for a few minutes, than blast them off with the pressure washer. My summit white tahoe is constantly covered in bugs from driving back and forth from Palm beach to ft. lauderdale

RE: Removing bugs
Just picked up a can of the Turtle Wax Bug remover but the guy at the store mentioned that it wouldn't be a good idea to apply it to a hot surface and it's in the low 90's here now. Even though it's in the garage it still feels very hot to the touch so will have to wait til it cools off. He also said that he feels that Stoner's Tarminater Sprayis even better then Turtle Wax.

RE: Removing bugs
Forgot to mention....but I had a chance this past weekend to wax/polich the Tahoe. I put on a few more coats of wax on the front bumper and hood to possibly help with cleanup of bugs and crap.
Haven't heard about the temperature thing, but you aren't really supopsed to wash your car or wax if it's hot either, so it might be good advice. FWIW try the Turtle Wax and if you find that it's not cleaning up enough of the mess, then might switch. But to this day I haven't really come across anything that turtle wax and a little elbow grease can't get rid of.

RE: Removing bugs
In some gas stations I have seen bug scrub brushes that have a soft foam pad wrapped with a mesh cover. Looks like it would provide just the right level of abrasion to loosen the bug splatter. What about clay bars? Has anyone tried them? It says they help remove tar, bugs, etc. all while providing an amazing finish
