Default Replacement Key/Remote

Hello All,

I recently purchased a 2011 Suburban and unfortunately it only came with one set of keys. I am wondering about the keys you see for sale on Ebay as "uncut" will they work?? And if so, can I program my truck to accept the key myself or do I need to take it in?? Also, how hard is it to program a second remote? Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You can add a key yourself. I bought one off of Ebay for my 2011 Tahoe and did it. I did have to go to several places to find someone who could or would cut it. Instructions for programming are in the owners manual. Starting in 2011 you can no longer program a remote fob. You have to have a dealer do it.
