I replaced all of the faux wood with the Z71 pieces. Easy to do, once you figure out how to get the steering wheel apart. Thanks for the help on that ZX.

Is there a easy way to remove the steering wheel trim. That is the only part of the install I am concerned about. I don't want to jam a screw driver in their with the steering wheel cruse and audio controls along with the air bag. That could get expensive fast especially if the air bag would deploy. How did you do it?

It's not at all difficult, but it is frustrating. It's tough to find the release back there since you are working blind. Good luck.

Sorry to resurrect an old post...

Is there anyone out there with an 07 LTZ that replaced the wood grain trim on the center console around the cupholders and little swing door covers with aluminum?

The dealer just told me that I would have to order a whole new center console to get those portions in aluminum.

Is there any aftermarket direct replacement to switch from wood to aluminum without being a 3M stick on?
