Default Replacing shocks

Thinking about replacing my shocks. Not sure what brand to go with. I was thinking bilstein or the edelbrock. I think bilstein is what comes stock? I was looking for some first hand, on what you like and why. Or some other brands you have used and liked. From my past experience I have found that I don’t like Monroe or rancho shocks.

Bilsteins 100% hands down.

Best shock I have ever had in my opinion.

I run them on my Silverado, my Camaro and had ran them on my 86 Monte Carlo SS

They are heavy duty, not overly expensive, carry a lifetime warranty, give you a nice ride and feel of the road. I recommend them to anyone and everyone thinking of changing shocks on any forum I frequent.

And no, I dont get paid by Bilstein..but it would be nice

My 05 Tahoe is equiped with the Autoride system. Would the Bilsteins be compatible with the Autoride system, or are the shocks my Tahoe came with connected to or unique to the Autoride system?

The rear shocks are definitely unique to the Autoride system. Not sure about the fronts. But if you look your truck up for Bilsteins, it will tell you.

Your right...I just found this company in Florida called Arnott Inc. They offer Bilstien shocks specifically for Tahoe's with the Autoride suspension. Here's the link if interested.

Ack! if I read that correctly that is $1500 for all 4 corners.... surely they are sold in pairs...and would cut down to about $700 for all 4 corners..

Yeah...they are sold in pairs....Not sure if $700 is still too high a price though....What do you think?
