Default Reverse Camera Questions

Hi. I have a 2007 Chevy Tahoe LTZ. The vehicle had the factory Bose Navigation and all the goodies, incluidng the factory reverse camera... I have installed a new ValorDVD receiver. The receiver simply needs a ground wire to know when it is in reverse and the RCA camera feed. I would like to use the factory reverse camera to do this. I read some of the posts online, but none really directly answer my questions and confused me quite a bit. What exactly do I need to do?Can anyone help me out? Please advise.

reverse trigger can't be ground. it's always positive. check link below, it has some pics where You can get that trigger from

http://www.cadillacintegration.com/2...o_Install.html

now, check brown connector that used to be attached to your factory nav radio
pin#6 Pink is camera posive
pin#7 light blue is camera negative
You can solder them to male RCA connector and that's it. or splice them to a piece of RCA cable with male on the other end

Hi. Thanks for the info, where is that location they are referring to, the BCM module? So I can connect the dark blue wire down there to my wire on my unit for the proper ground I need? No wires I can use for this behind the dash in a simple location?

Hey Guys. Well I hooked up the camera how you explained, using the RCA end and the pink as positive, light blue as negative, does not work. What else can I try or check?

Hi. You want to know what takes so long for the reverse monitor to display on my Valor unit? It doesnt if you ask me, its instant, but then again I do not have a working camera feed. Do you have the same unit or something?

Can anyone help me with my camera issue? How do I manage to use the factory OEM reverse camera with my unit?

fewthings could happened
may be on your aftermarket unit you need to turn your camera option ON. you can test it with a different camera, just to make sure that function is working on your Valore unit., or, since you disconnected your factory Nav radio, system lost communication with camera module (underneath passenger seat), in that case, you may need to bypass that module
