Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Default Roof weight

I have a 2013 Sub 1500. Were about to make a long move across the country and were looking at buying a rooftop cargo box. Does anyone know how much weight can be put on the top without breaking anything? Or know how to find this information?

Owners manual says...

"Notice: Loading cargo on the luggage carrier that
weighs more than 200 lbs (91 kg) or hangs over
the rear or sides of the vehicle may damage your
vehicle."

That being said, I've been on the roof of my Suburban multiple times. I weigh about 240, and the roof didn't seem to mind. All 3 of my kids have also been on the roof at the same time, and they're easily over 400 lbs.
