Safty belt again
In my first post ,asking about safty belt, the trubbel is that the inspector test them by pulling hard, and tehey dident lock-As all 4 belt react in the same way.I am now asking if they lock up by pulling ihave tested 4 other Suburbans at car delers and all of them does the same. My cuestion is shall tehy lock up by pulling when the car stand still, If i drive and break and pull they lock up fine,.So i want to know -wath is normal
The seatbelts are designed that way. Unless the vehicle is under rapid deceleration, the seatbelts do not lock. They are supposed to move freely.
When you brake hard, the mechanism engages and the seatbelt locks.

they should lock with a quick pull of your hand...the vehicle stopped or moving makes no difference... i do 2 quick pulls as quick and hard as I can...that is how they are tested during an inspection.
