Yes, find the wire under the seat that goes to the buckle receiver (the part next tot he seat that you plug the belt into) and unplug the connector or cut the wire. This has no affect on airbags or anything else. It tells the car the seat belt IS buckled all the time. It's kind of counter intuitive, you're disconnecting something to tell it something else IS connected. The wire lets the car know if the belt is unbuckled, not buckled so no harm in disconnecting this wire. Of course any mods at your own risk, your insurance company may deny any medical claims if you do this mod and get injured due to not wearing a seat belt, you should always wear your seat belt, etc. I always buckle up but have done this before in a car where the chime was so annoying I wanted to insert fist through instrument panel every time I heard it so no, doing this doesn't mean I don't buckle up. I am a persistent seatbelt user, I simply don't like dealing with the chime.

 

i worked at a Chevy dealer and learned how to do this they made it so it's a real hassle to shut it off.
1. Turn ignition to run but don't start it
2. Buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt 12 times then immediately start it
3. Shut the key off and turn it back to run
4. Honk the horn 3 times
5. Shut the key off and turn it to run
6. Lock and unlock the vehicle 5 times
7. Shut the key off and turn it to run again
8. And finally buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt another 12 times
9. Shut the key off and start it and the chime will be gone
enjoy your ding free life lol (:

 

Ok, for the crap that's in the passenger seat, a seat belt around the items won't exactly cut it. And the weight of a box of files plus a printer causes my seat belt to go off - whether I'm wearing mine or not. SO... in a 2016 Chevy Caprice, how do I disable it? The junk yard doesn't have any that fit my car - yet.

 

I don't think this works for a 2016 Caprice, tho.

Not that I don't use my belt it stays on the entire time I'm driving only stops when I come to a complete stop. Drives me crazy but this is why I want to know

 

Some states it is not the law that you have to wear your seatbelts I use my truck on ranches and dont want that stupid ding all the time either....

Plus my dog sets it off constantly.
