Default Seat Heater Switch

If the seat heaters stay on (without having pushed the button), is it probably the switch on the door to engage the seat heaters OR could the seat heaters themselves stay on if they have a short in the wiring?

seat heaters can be tricky. depending on the year of your vehicle the wires in the seat heater in the seat could be worn out and be causing the switch to think that the seat heater is on.
the seat heater works like your toaster small wires with current causing heat to warm your butt not toast in this case. that would be my first place to start.
