Default Service 4x4 when driving in slippery conditions

Hi there,
I looked all over for my issue with the 4x4 but I haven't found the same issue. I have a 2008 Tahoe, and I can switch from 2wd to auto to 4wd no problem. I live in Canada so ****ty weather so when I switch to 4wd or auto and the car slips a bit the service 4x4 message appears. Does anyone know what I should check, replace fix ?

Thank you !

get the fault code read. the transfer case control module will have stored codes when the service 4x4 message appears. that is the diagnosis starting point.

That may well lead to a wheel speed sensor readout problem but getting the codes first is the right thing to do. Otherwise it can be a WAG and lead to spending money not needed.
