Default shock absorber problem gmt800 suburban 2000

good morning,

i have a special question regarding
to the shock absorbers of my
chevy suburban 07/2000.

first ... i am a new member ... sry for my
poor english ... and hello

my rpo code z55 tells me that i have an
autoride system in my sub.
look to the picture at
www.erdbeerbus.de ... just click
on the suburban at the top right corner.
my vin is ...
Suburban 07/2000 AWD 5,3ltr
VIN: 3GNFK16T2YG217950
325T

my problem is, that the compressor does not work
and one of the absorbers continously lose air ... ^^

so i have decided to switch to normal shock
absorbers ... i only drive on normal roads ...
wirh normal car weight ...
i do not really need the z55 system.

so i am actually considering
to use bilstein or rancho 9000 absorbers,
but ...

do i need other springs, too? springs without autoride ...
and which kind of bilstein absorbers or ranchos
would fit to my suburban?

i am also considering to order via rockauto or similar
company ... so i am willing to order via us ... no problem
if u only have an american link.

thanx in advance for your advices and best regards!

if you also have an idea regarding a little 'higher raise'...
lifting my car ...
for about 2 inches ... maybe with spacers ...

Welcome to the forum.

There is an aftermarket option available to replace the Autoride shocks so that you don't get a constant fault lite. Their name escapes me at the moment but perhaps someone else on the forum can remember it.

Arnott makes a conversion kit.

If you just replace the shocks, the rear spring are VERY soft. Any weight in the back will cause the travel to bottom out and cause the wheels to rub on the liners.
