Default Shock replacement?

Hi guys.. Newbie here. Owner of a 2003 suburban ls. Need new shocks but on a budget. What brand should i look for..

I ran Monroe Reflex's and Gabriels for years. Neither seem to last long. Few months back, my '05 Sub needed more shocks. I was ready to try something else. A friend highly suggested Bilsteins, but at $100 plus for each shock, way over my budget. I did some searching and found AJ-USA. They had the Bilsteins for around $58 each, no tax, free shipping. Honestly it's the first shock I've ever put on that you can feel the difference the first few miles you drive it. They were actually a couple $'s cheaper than the Reflex's. Only time will tell how long they last, but I'll never buy monroes again.

I have had better luck with Monroe shocks than I have had with Bilstein. And for the money I would buy Monroe again and not spend the extra money for Bilstein.

I prefer my bilsteins on my z71 than any other shocks I have ever had.

Bilstein is definitely a good replacement for the stocks, but if your rig is lowered it will give a stiff ride.

Brother had bad experience with Bilstein on his tahoe and replaced them with Superlift. Or check out Monroe, couple of guys here have them without any complain.
