Unhappy shut down!

02 burb 2500 6.0 4x4, I was driving and the engine just quit running! I did'nt hear fuel pump so i checked all fuses and swapped out relay with a known good one of same part # but no help! also replaced the fuel pump module in the big tank on left side of vehicle! no help! I noticed the fuel gauge reads empty when I know the left tank is half full! there is a small rear tank that I don't about? does it have a fuel pump? I have a actron scan tool but it will not "talk" to the computer; It reads 8888! HELP!!!!

Sounds like the ECM is not talking or powering up, I'd go back and double check every fuse with a meter....

I agree with in2pro, I personally use a test light for the basics, but you may actually need a multimeter to see what each relay and fuse are actually using and sending out. Check your fuses under the hood and the dash. If all of these check out ok, you may need to look into the ECM being faulty. I have a local shop that (at least at one time) checked these for function. Check around you for electrical repair shops to see if they can check yours for function. Good luck.

Hope it helps.

Don't forget to check the mega fuse on the firewall that the battery connects to to power the vehicle electrical system...

thanks guys! I went back through all circuits and rechecked fuses, all good! I did get a schem. and I saw where there is a ( secondary fuel pump relay ) for the 6.0 only! for the rear tank module! I have jumped the primary pump relay and that pump runs but burb still wont start? and the fuel gauge still reads empty! can anyone tell me where the secondary fuel pump relay is??? I have searched all three bus boxes and it's not listed in any of them! Thanks!!
