You know, it's funny that you mention this. I am not sure what exactly you are experiencing, or the sound you are hearing, but my speakers were making this very faint buzzing sound the other day. It had never happened before, and I wasn't sure what was going on.

Anyhow, come to find out it was my friends iphone that was causing interference, making the speakers have this very odd, but low buzzing sound. He had set his phone in the tray near the radio and something about the phone created the buzzing in my speakers. If we put the phone close to the radio you could hear it, but take it away, nothing. Weird right? He says computers do that as well sometimes with his phone nearby...

So, not to change the topic here, but is that something you are hearing (soft buzzing), or more of a very low static sound? Either way, having sound when muted, given my friend is not riding in the car, doesn't sound normal (no pun intended). Other then the slight issue caused by the iphone, I haven't heard any other noises from my radio, other then music of course.

i'd be willing to bet lunch he has a GSM iphone... (ATT)...

GSM phones always wreak havoc on electronics...radios, cars, tvs, etc...

CDMA seems to cause less issues (Verizon).

I haven't tested any LTE phones yet....

If you can tell me how to find out this stuff I can tell you. The phone is an HTC Desire. The carrier is a local one (celcom) in Wisconsin.

ChevFreak, it is not a buzzing at all but it sounds like an actual radio station
