Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Default sound coming from the water pump

2021 Tahoe Z71
New Transmission, New Cam & Lifters and New Water Pump with Thermostat

Since December my Tahoe has required a New Transmission, New Cam & Lifters and now 2 New Water Pumps with Thermostat. SUV is back at the dealer due to a loud obnoxious sound coming from the water pump when the SUV is in Idle. GM had them replace the brand new pump installed 2 weeks prior. the Service Manager called me yesterday afternoon to detail they had installed all new items and drove it around a couple blocks and the sound is back and they have no idea what it is and are waiting for GM to advise. Has anyone had anything similar and what diagnosis was found?

I was told same a decade ago when GM dealer had "absolutely no idea" why the sunroof on our 2005 Yukon only would close "sometimes". I fought and eventually got a refund, as we had agreed in advance that I'd pay for a fix, but not for guessing.

Sad that GM cannot diagnose and fix their own product.....

I agree with Old Chevy, they owe you a reliable functioning vehicle. I wouldn't be comfortable driving that one 5 miles to work! I assume you purchased new from this dealer? Just curious on mileage for each of the repairs.
Good luck.
