I noticed my spare tire was wobbly and when I looked its about 6 inches lower than it should be. I tried to raise it but I could not get the bar to engage the mechanism on the bumper. After peaking in with a light I can see the square tube in the circular housing is pressed up against the top of the circular tube housing. now it makes sense why I could not get the bar connected.

Question .... is this something anyone has dealt with before? Is this just a matter of fiddling with the circular housing or am I looking at a replacement? could the tire itself be causing the bar to bend up and press against the tubing?
