Default Spare tire question

Do you guys have matching spare tire on your Tahoe ? I mean same size same brand etc. as the rest of the tires.
My Tahoe has different brand spare with a different tread then the rest of tires. That is my first vehicle that has this. All my previous cars and trucks always had 5 matching tires when it was new. So if you guys that have still original stock wheel wouldn't mind to look at your spare and see if it is identical as the rest and post
the answer here I would appreciate it. Thanks

I dont know what I have, I dont have my stock wheels. But most vehicles I have purchased have the same tires, and just a cheap crappy black rim! THey are usually the same size wheel and tire as the factory!

I have 20 inch Bridgestones altezzas and a 17 inch Goodyear Wrangler ST as a spare.

Crap move on GMs part. My Ram had the same 20 inch tire on a black rim.

The dealer told me that the spare is smaller because the 20s do not fit in the well. Sounds like either BS or poor engineering to me

Yes I know about the rim, all my vehicles had steel rim for spare, but matching tire, same brand, tread and size.
The rim is not my concern, but I always thought that the tires including spare would be identical on new vehicle.
Thanks for your replies.

That doesnt really make sense. The 17's overall diameter and circumference is basically the same as the 20's. It is different, but very slight! So I dont know how the size would affect it! I agree on the BS!

Me too. The overall circumference between the 2 are very close.

I do find it unusual that your spare is not the same brand since your Tahoe came with all 17" wheels.

My 20 inch Bridgestones are stock and my 17 inch Wrangler - spare is too.
I thought the same thing about the size. The overall circumference has to be darn close.

Ask your dealer what you are supposed to do with the flat when you put the spare on?
