Special 4L60E??
Ok, so here's the deal... I have a friend who says that his reverse is out on his '94 Suburban. He say's that his 4L60E is only 1 of 150 of the like. His Suburban is a 94 4x4 1500 law enforcement. It supposedly has the drive train of a 2500. Does anyone know what the deal is with this tranny or has he been misinformed?

There used to be a site that would decode your VIN to see how rare it was, but it's gone.
With a little information, such as the VIN, there are other avenues to go through that will tell you how many were made.
I learned that my 1989 F250 was one of only 18 made that year with that engine/tranny combo, gearing, color combo and trim package, as well as a few other bits and pieces. I found this out by having a dealer run my VIN
Knowing that doesn't mean a hill of beans, though...just because there weren't many made like mine doesn't mean mine is worth more than others.
