Default Spots on wheels

Hello all, my first post here. I just bought a 2007 suburban LT, and it has the 20" 5 spoke wheels on it. Did the LT ever come with those, or did the previous owner put them on?

Anyway, there are spots on the wheels that look like aluminum corrosion, but it should be clear coated. The wheels are also very dull.

What is the best way to try to clean them without removing the clear coat? Clay bar?

Have you tried at least washing them first with regular car soap? Advance Auto & Auto Zone have wheel cleaners available, but I don't know how well they work. My '06 Ram has corrosion on its wheels, but it doesn't look anything like that.

Welcome to the forum. Not much you can do once the clear coat has broken down. The wheel can be stripped, polished, and recoated.
