Went to start my 2004 suburban (vin 3GNEC16Z44G192637). When i put the key in the ignition, turned it to the start position it cranked but wouldn't start. In the run position everything was working as expected, all gauges were correct, radio was on, lights etc worked as normal. Tried this 4-5 more times with the same result. Only thing that i could think of at the moment is the fuel pump.

 

if you do not have a fuel pressure gauge
if you cannot hear the fuel pump prime for 2 seconds at key on:


spray a 2-3 second shot of brake cleaner into the intake. if it starts briefly; you have confirmed a fuel issue.
