Default Steering shaft rattle

'04 Tahoe was bought new. Later on the rattle started, dealer checked it out, replaced a tie rod end, ?, have had the shaft out once before and put heavy lube inside it that worked for a quite while. Still mad at it I bought a new shaft and it certainly by hand feels tighter, installed it under the dash first but it would not connect inside the other shaft down below. Too damn tight. Out came the OD Mic to check it out. Yep, it ain't gonn'a easily fit. Did a home modification to get it to work. Success ! Such a pleasing sound is NO rattle sound. Wish I had replace it much sooner. Moral is to check fits first before trying to finish a job. *BW*

Glad to hear you solved your issue. Diagnosis is 80 percent of repairing a vehicle unless it's plainly obvious.
