Default Stumbling at highway speed (60+)

Hi All,

My wife's '96 Tahoe has a stumble that starts around 50 mph and as you get above 60, it becomes very noticeable.

I plugged in my code reader and it shows 2 pending trouble codes - P0700 and P1100.

Can someone please help me identify the cause of this??

Check the air cleaner and the MAF sensor all the way to the throttle body make sure you dont have any debris blocking air flow.
Check wiring to the crank shaft position sensor located at front of engin below flywheel

I susgest these becaue I had a similar issue with my 97, a piece of the air cleaner foam tore loose and got sucked up in the MAF
the second time was the wiring to the crank shaft position sensorhad gotten burned on the manifold when the harness plasic broke

the wires were shorting out when the harness melted and casue false error codes to set.

Thanks for the response. I will check both suggestions - they make good sense as possibilities.

I have a 99 and I have had to replace the fuel filter twice for stumbling and lack of power, both time the new filter solved t6he issue, never did kick any codes though but just thought I would throw that out there. It seems that about avery 30 thousand miles or so I need to change the fuel filter.

its possible you could have bad plug wires that are arcing to other cables or wires also that will cause stumbling and also set codes. I'm not trying to dismiss the codes your getting but my exp has been that they are usally not accurate when you get multiple codes at one time.

check and make sure the plug wires are secure and not tocuhing the block or rubbing on other wires
