Sub Install on 06 Tahoe
Here's the deal. I helped a friend install 2 12" subs in his 06 Tahoe, with a mono amp powering them. I've done a few installs before, but every time it has been with an aftermarket head unit. Since he wanted to keep his head unit stock for the XM radio, he bought a line out converter to be able to hook up the rca's. The loc was spliced into the wiring for the sub in the center console (he has the Bose system). The remote wire was spliced into the head unit harness. So now to my question...
Everything works perfectly when the car is sitting still, but once he throws into drive and hits the accelerator it cuts out and the lights on the amp flash. If he let's off the gas it goes back to normal. He can keep it in park and rev and it doesn't happen. I'm stumped, to say the least. Anyone have any ideas? We have already moved the ground wire location once without any results.

Tried disabling the speed responsive volume, no change. I'm not exactly sure what we tapped into for the remote wire, but it obviously was dropping voltage when he hit the accelerator. Sure wish we had had a wiring diagram handy...oh well, it's gonna get tapped into the fuse box now. Thanks!

Not sure about neutral, he did it in park and it was fine. I really have no idea what I tapped into, I just stuck the remote wire into each port on the harness until it stayed on with the key on, and turned off when the key was turned off.

Until you know what the main 12V line (battery) and the supply you connected to does under acceleration, it's going to be hard to diagnose.
What does it mean that "it cuts out and the lights on the amp flash"?
