without trying to invade anyone's privacy.....
Is there any sort of "locator" on this site to bring Suburban owners in the same area together? Maybe share info on garages and/or mechanics that won't simply take you to the cleaners? I'm a disabled Marine Vet, and my prior injuries won't allow me to bend and twist enough to work on my own vehicles any longer. So for even the simplest jobs, I have to pay others. And what I'm running into is an entire industry that has embraced greed, price gouging, and extortion. I'm an optimist, and truly believe there's a decent shop out there. I went the route of checking "reviews" and "yelp"....stuff like that, but after seeing the wording on sooooo many of these, it becomes obvious that many, if not 70-80% of these reviews are fake and/or hired out.
I'm in Columbia S.C. By the way. Near the Harbison area. Anyone near me lookin for a new bestie?

 

I have a great shop for any repairs I can't do myself. I'd try using YELP in your area to see if you can find a good one, Marine.
Maybe even get on Nextdoor and ask. Some shops will give labor discounts for veterans such as yourself, or on disabilities..
