Default Suburban Quadrasteer

Hi,
I am looking at a 2005 Suburban LT 6.0L engine 4x2 with the Quadrasteer. I have a concern with the expected life of the Quadrasteer system and am wondering if anyone out there has a high mileage vehicle they can comment on. Chevy no longer puts these on, so I'm concerned that if there is a problem, I'd be stuck.

The Suburban is in really good shape and I keep my vehicles up to about 200k miles so need to be able to rely on this truck. It will mostly be used by the soccer mom, with some towing and long trips thrown in over the next 10 years.

Any other issues I should be aware of with a 2005 Suburban with the 6.0 engine?

Thanks!

Default RE: Suburban Quadrasteer

Use only GM Quadrasteer Synthetic rear axle fluid when servicing the rearend. It's about $28/quart and takes 3 quarts.

I don't know of any problems with the Quadrasteer system. Too much fear of the unkown lowers the demand of these awsome trucks.

If you find a good clean one, you will love it.

Default 2004 Quadrasteet

I have a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban Quadrasteer - Farm and Tow Package. I maintain it reguarly and it drives like I bought it yesterday. It is in mint condition both inside and out.

I'm not aware of any issues with the Quadrasteer system. It was just heavy, and of questionable value to customers. For a vehicle that many buy primarily for towing, the excessive weight of the Quadrasteer eats into payload and GVWR numbers.

A 2004 3/4-ton Suburban should easily last 250-300k miles. They were totally overengineered, beastly trucks.

Not sure if I am tagging the right thing. But if you do have a suburban Quadra steer for sale, I might well be interested. Thank you
