Suburban / whine in left front
I have a 03 Suburban 4wd. I am noticeing a whining coming from the left front wheel. It is more noticeable when slowing down coming to a stop. Any thoughts ? Bearings ? Tires ?
YA jack her up and give the wheel a spin then have someone apply and release the brakes, check if a caliper is hanging up due to the slides not lubricated or rust deposits formed on caliper, check brake backing plate, wheel senser, check rotor for intermittant friction or discoloration it could be warped, check bearings, if your wheel gets hot while driving then check brake fluid for contamination this also will hang a brake, check dif. lube, should be one of these i would think, good luck oh and one more thing the brake systems on these trucks were not one of GM's finest moments when and if you replace brake parts always get the top of the line like lts, wagner,or Napa's application engineered or ceramics pads, and always a top of the line rotor Napa's premium is good powerstop also makes good ones! remember auto zone, checkers, and now advance is owned i believe by one company, Mcquire's! so there parts are the same and so is the quality it seems for all. it might sound like a pain but summit has high quality parts as well if its not any of these look for a slow cat that couldnt move outta the way
