Default Suspension Improvements 2001 Suburban

We are happy to be the original owners of a 2001 Suburban 1500 LX with only 90k miles. The car has been really well maintained and is super clean.

Now that both of the kids are in college we want to do a few cross country trips.
It makes sense to me to trick out our existing Burb with sound deadening and suspension improvements as well as a state of the art audio system rather than buying a new 50K plus ride.

My question is... would converting to an air suspension improve the ride quality considerably? We only want to make the vehicle as comfortable as possible.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I believe your generation has better brakes so lighter rims will help when you go to bigger rim/tire combo, your braking performance won't suffer as much. I would go for 2.75 front and 3/4 rear suspension, check Superlift Chevy GMC Suspension, and search those have electronic controlled shock absorbers. Report back here what you've searched and decide..
