AFAIK there's one compressor in the rear on the driver side and its only is connected to the rear shocks.

Default Arnott Front Air Suspension for GM SUVs with Autoride

Designed by Delphi and now manufactured by BWI in Mexico, Autoride comes standard on the GMC Yukon Denali and Yukon XL Denali. The product is also standard on the Cadillac Escalade, Escalade EXT and Escalade ESV where it is known as Road Sensing Suspension. GM also offers Autoride as an option for the Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe and Avalanche 1500 and as an option for the GMC Yukon XL 1500.

Autoride is a fully automatic ride control system that continually adjusts the damping level on each of the four individual shock absorbers to provide superior ride quality and handling performance. Autoride's "tow/haul" mode helps improve vehicle body control while towing and hauling by offering increased levels of damping. Also included with Autoride is automatic rear level control, an air suspension system that helps keep the vehicle level over a wide range of passenger and loading conditions while also maintaining rear ride travel.

For the 2007 Suburban (with AutoRide) Arnott makes a set of front replacement shocks using new Bilstein shocks. They come with sensor plug in modules so you won't get dashboard warning lights.

They do have damping capabilities but that comes from the Bilstein shocks not from the Autoride.
