Default Swapping factory 17s for aftermarket 20s

I just bought a 07 tahoe and bought aftermarket 20s for it the same day the tire place replaced the factory sensors but could not get the vehicle to relearn i took it back to the dealership and they said the vehicle would have to be reprogrammed for the 20s since it came with 17s i dont have a problem with this as long as this will fix the program does any have any experience with this?

There is a post on the process to relearn the tire pressure sensors! Just search this forum/tahoe section and you will see it. It is pretty easy!

Do you want to sell your 17's? I assume the sensors were removed? I am looking for a cheap set of factory 17's, let me know if you want to sell them and what you want! Thanks.

Yeah i went through the relearn process it was simple but the computer would not relearn. The dealership said the vehicle would have to be reprogrammed since it was originally programed for 17s didnt know if that would actually work or would i be wasting my time since the dealership is an hour away.

It should relearn on its own. However you should have your tahoe programmed for the 20's, it will correct the transmission shift points, odometer, and speedometer. Just have the dealership to it when they do the reprogram.

Wonder why the wheel diameter would have anything to do with tire pressure sensors.[sm=dontgetit.gif]

Already did. Sorry. I went to the dealership and they refused to reprogram my tahoe cause it has 285 50 r20 and they said they would only do it if i bought 275 55 r20 and had them installed. Needless to say i was not happy with them, so i had to call back this other dealership that i did not buy the vehicle from. Luckily i found out the new service manager was someone who i went to high school with and he said he didnt care where i bought from just to drop it off with him for an hour or so and he would take care of the reprogramming free of charge. I guess it isnt so bad being in a small town.

It's after 1200. It's never too early. I may have interpreted factory sensors as mean the tire pressure sensors.
