ZX or anyone else with expertise in this area. I ran into some sort of tar or grease and there are little black specs that will not come off with soap and water. I tried waxing it off and that didn't work either. I'm a little tentative to go and get some tar remover to use. Any other suggestions? I figure that whatever I use, it's going to take the wax off I just want to make sure that's all it takes off.

well, ya pretty much anything you use is gonna strip the wax, but just reapply.....best thing I have used beleive it or not is a can of WD 40, spray it on and wipe it off, Simple green works as well for most things, and ya the good ole bug and tar remover.......something else you may try is Spray 9, works good on road crap as well, but reapply wax after.

And for future do not wax over road grit and tar, makes it harder to get off...OH Dish Soap is prolly the best wax stripper you can buy if your looking to strip the wax and reapply to the vehicle...

 

I've got Simple Green and WD40 is one better than the other. I'm not worried about the wax as much as the clear coat. I realized after I started waxing it and it wasn't coming off that it wasn't the best idea.

WD 40 will work the bet prolly but the most harsh. Try the simple green first....
