Default Tahoe Codes

Hello everybody , I'm new here to the forums and I'm hoping someone can help

My check engine light came on recently in my 2003 Tahoe. I am by no means a car expert but know my way around a little. When it come to codes and what not I have no idea. I am in the Navy and currently stationed at Pearl Harbor Hawaii. They have an auto skills shop where service members can go and work on there vehicles using their lifts and tools for next to nothing in cost. I took it in to get the check engine light checked and here are the codes they gave me:

1 - P0455 EVAP

2 - P1071 System too lean ( bank 1 )

Any ideas or suggestions on what i can do to fix this without draining my not so full bank account would be GREATLY appreciated......

Thanks in advance,

Brett

Welcome to the forum. And thanks for your service from a former Navy guy. ('65-'69)

Here's some links I got from Google: http://repairpal.com/OBD-II-Code-P0455
http://www.obd-codes.com/p0455

Even those this is for Ford (yuk) it may still help: http://www.aa1car.com/library/ford_lean_codes.htm

Others here may have some more ideas.
