I've had the 3M film on my "other" car for the past 4 years and 84,000 mainly highway miles and love it. On some of the tighter radius corners like below the bumper the edges have lifted a little, but no chips, dings or dents whatsoever. I'm going to look into getting it installed on my Tahoe this week when I get back home.
These film covers work very well...when you put it on just make sure the surface is very very very very very very very very clean...can't be clean enough, so take your time cleaning the portion to be filmed.
I found out who the dealers installer was and contacted him directly to do the install on the side. I paid $350 instead of $800 to the dealer, but I had to do the prep work. I washed the front of the car with blue Dawn dish soap to strip the wax, then clay barred the paint. I watched the install, and was glad I hired a pro. The install process wasn't too complex, but getting the film to adhere onto some of the complex contours needed a professionals experience to come out right.
