Default Tahoe Rear Windows Looser than a freshmen after power hour

anyway.

my rear windows on my tahoe, when they are down 1/2" or more or even 1/2 way down or all the way down are LOOSE. it's like they are barely attached to the stupid truck!

every bump in the road causes them to shake and make noise, and I'm ready for them to break in 1/2 at any moment (or 100,000 pieces like automotive glass does).

Are all of the Tahoe's like this (2009) or am I just lucky?

Thanks.

I will see if I can post a video today from my iphone.

Interesting analogy

Anyhow, I have a similar thing going on with my 2007 Tahoe. I noticed it the other day when it was quite warm and I had the rear windows down. I could see them shaking in my side mirrors. So, upon stopping I checked them out and they were pretty darn loose. I probably thought the same thing as you - what in the world was still holding these windows in the vehicle.

I am not sure where to go from here, short from going back to the dealer. It seems like I was just there.....

I suppose you might not have to worry about braking them as the shaking I am sure, will do it for you! So that's one less thing you have to worry about

Let me know what you find out.

No matter how hard I try to like my GM... my wifes tribute was 1/4 the cost and is 10x better put together.

Her rear windows don't shake and aren't held on with spit...

I get nervous everytime we close the door with the windows down any - sounds like they could break off! I bet they are just held at the bottom 1/2 or so with the window lifting mechanism. Like the other "quirks" about this truck, just don't understand why some things were done the way there were or overlooked... Oh well I guess

I completely understand the both of you! I LOVE my Tahoe, but absolutely hate these little annoyances. It seems like everyday I find something new that needs "fixing", or at least should have been done right the first time. I have always liked chevy's and I am sure I always will, but come on, give me a break!

I have never had a vehicle with windows like this. I feel the same way - I am almost afraid to leave them down. I too closed the door with them down the day I noticed them being loose, and I thought the window was going to fall out...

I suppose in the end, it is just one of those things.....

I just went and checked mine on my 07, and they seem pretty firmly held to me when trying to move them in and out at different levels of openness, I was able to physically rock them front to back but that took some effort....
I do hear some sounds that sound like the lift assembly rattle from time to time on rough roads but that seems to be reasonable and is not consistent...

Well don't rush. We wouldn't want to ruin a good meal

Ribs actually sound pretty good right now... Maybe I'll just have to fire up the grill!!!

Default yea

agreed; my tahoe has been a source of continual disapointment in build quality and materials.

Next time, no GM for me.

But that's another story.

Well I got the video, but it only plays on my phone, Windows Media bloatware can't open a .3gp file, and the free bloatware I downloaded from Cnet doesn't work...
