Tahoe tries to start when taking the key out
Hello newb here, been lurking for a long time and never had any issues with my 07 LT but now I do and it's time to ask about it.
This problem just started with my wife with in the past month intermittently and it just happened with me this weekend. While turning vehicle off and taking the key out of the ignition the engine turns over and tries to start briefly but it doesn't actually start. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what the heck is it other than "Christine"
?
Just wondering what it is before I take it to the dealer.
Thanks for the great site and information.

ZX described in great detail the entire starting process in a post sometime back. Even pointed out that you don't have to twist and hold the key in the start position until it starts. Just twist and release and computer handles it from there. Try a search and see what it say about what happens when key is inserted.
I've read your post severel times to fully understand what it is that you are saying and it makes little sense.
When I shut the vehicle off (and I imagine others do the same) I put the shift lever in park and then twist the key to OFF and remove it all in one fail swoop.
The only thing that I can think of is you turn it OFF then wait a second then as you go reove it the key is accidently rotated slightly back to the START position and then removed.
If this is not the case then you may have a problem that needs to be addressed under warranty although issues that are very rare occurrences (like this) are very difficult to diagnose.

Sorry about the confusing post, trying to type out a problem can be tricky when you cant talk or use sound effects and hand signals.

Dave, is he describing a deiseling of the engine, as some will do when you turn them off. I don't think he's saying the starter is engagine, but I'm not sure.
I know it's hard to explain but it was doing it to me tonight a few times. Again when I pull the key out of the ignition the starter engages briefly, it doesn't start just engages for a quick second.
