Default Tail Light Problem

I have a 1999 Tahoe LT 4wd 5.7Vortec

I've been searching the forums for a possible answer to my problem but only found things close to what I'm dealing with.

My brake lights function fine(when pedal is pressed), turn signals work, hazards work, third bar works. But at night when I turn my lights on there are no running lights on my tail lights.

Bulbs are good. Headlight switch is good. I discovered that Fuse 9 labeled Crank has no power at all going to the circuit where you plug the fuse in.

Any help is much appreciated.

TahoeTrey Welcome to the forum...
Might check the light switch and connections to the back of the switch....

Check the sockets where the bulbs plug into. I have seen loose worn sockets cause problems like you are having.

I've eliminated the possibility of it being the headlight switch, ill try to see if the bulb socket is getting power to it at least

Default lights

I find it odd both would go out unless it's the whole circuit.

yes, test the sockets, if no power there, it may have been melted / fried somewhere else.

just trace the wiring from the back, however I think it goes into the body... might be easier to run a new wire under the car than deal w/that mess...

Check all the fuse boxes, there's one under the hood too right?

My '09 wouldn't run the left turn for the trailer... but the one on the truck worked... turns out there are separate fuses for the trailer! who knew?!
