Default TCCM/Switch/Encoder

Hey All, New to forum here, but have an issue I hope we can solve. Last March I smelled burning plastic in cab of 02 Suburban Z71 4x4 and Service 4x4 light came on. Long story short Encoder motor bad, smoked TCCM, and since it was spring I waited until weather turned to fix. Replaced both 2 weeks ago for trip to NC. Replaced with new Dorman aftermarket. Monies tight, so I went that route. All fine with trip and car sat for a week after getting back.

Last night it happened again. Drove to Mke (around 75 miles ea way.) and it is cold. (-2 or so) Will take to mechanic but know at least the TCCM is smoked. Had issue with all warning lights coming on and off over last 2 years, and that happened last night again after stopping for dinner on way home. Shut car off to reset and started again. Thats when the TCCM smoked and I smelled the burning plastic.

Trying to isolate issue with warning lights and possible to short the tccm? Bad 4x4 switch? Bad ECM? Replaced battery and alternator along with TCCM and encoder motor beginning of month, assuming that accelerated issue. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Default This might help

My 03 Tahoe would light up all the idiot lights when I hit bumps in the road. It turned out the ground on the back of the cylinder head (pass side if memory serves)
