Default For those here with 07-up tahoe & burbans with 26s wheels

What did you guys do to fix the wheel well rubbing? I have 305/30/26 tires and the ride height is stock on my truck. It appears that my front height is a bit lower than the rear so the tire shop things that my truck's struts or springs maybe off center or have dropped lower than standards. Is there a special strut or shock I can buy that will make the front sit level with the rear? I don't want to go with a smaller tire 275 due to road conditions where I live at. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I assume there is a leveling kit available. Most of these things sit a little high in the rear.

That's a big tire/wheel combo. With the width you have, you'll have a hard time making it work without some rubbing occasionally.

Occasional rubbing I can deal with but the way they looked yesterday I wasn't going to be able to make even a small turn of the wheel without it all in the well rubbing hard.

So much for the bone stock in your sig.

The two remedies that I've heard about for this issue is the use a heat gun to reshape the liner or for more extreme rubbing, just cut out a portion.

BTW do you have stock offset on those monster wheels?

Not sure what road conditions would be more conducive to 305s vs 275s except may a hi-bank tri-oval.

LOL yeah she's far from bone stock now. I think I'm gonna go the heat gun reshape route and see if that will do it. I heard about the cutting and I'm thinking that inner fender is there for a reason and I don't want to remove it. So I'll try the reshape thing to see if that work. Another member on one of my car audio forms said to maybe look at a 295 series tire instead of a 305 since my wheels are only 9.5 wide. Who knows but I was expecting a lot more replies here cause there are quite a few people on here running Tahoes & Burbans with 26's wheels.

I agree. A 12" tire on a 9.5" wheel is not good. Surprised the tire shop would even mount them.

What about your offset?

Also probably should upgrade brakes w/ those massive wheels.

I did upgrade the brakes. I went with performance rotors from Stop Tech and pads from Stop Tech and Wanger. I believe the offset is +10 but don't hold me to that. They think that my springs in the front may have settled and sag now. They said that they've put the same wheel on the same year truck just a few months back and didn't have as near as rubbing as mines had. I'm gonna get on it tomorrow after work. Heat gun and thick rubber mallet.

Where are you rubbing ? Are you rubbing just at the inner clip on the fender? I suspect its rubbing at the clip and up in the front lower center. Alignment can play a major role at rubbing or not.
