trans trouble i think

My 99 Chevy tahoe has a 4 speed trans. will get up to 65mph shift from 3rd to overdrive and set the cruise and its fine until I get to a hill then the speed starts dropping off. step on gas peddle and it does nothing but the rpms will go up. any ideas
