Default Transfer case ringing issue

Hi guys. I'm new to the forum, but I've been reading all the topics for a long time, a lot of useful information.

To the point - I have a 4WD on the 2008 Tahoe, 5.3. Today I started engine and when switch gearbox to the N I heard a ringing sound from the side of the transfer case. Here's a video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-13...ew?usp=sharing

I looked in search and realized that it could be a weakened chain or a collapsed bearing.

I would be very grateful if someone share their experience and say what it can be.

Thanks in advance!

Well for sure that is not normal. It does sound like the chain.

Perhaps drain the lubricant out, check it out and run a magnetic snake inside to see if it picks up something?

Thanks for the answer, Man! At the very first stage, I thought about it. Which magnetic snake do you use? Something like that?

Yes, and I say pull the transfer case. Been down hat road before with a 4 speed.

I didn't quite understand you. You mean to remove the transfer case and check it?
