Default RE: 2002 Tahoe LT transformation to Z71

Okay great. We probably won't buy it because my dad says it'll only match the Z71 running boards [which these he won't buy]. And the mirror kinda sounds like trouble.

Today we removed the grille and headlights. We are getting the Z71 emblems today hopefully from the dealer. Also I have sanded the liftgate handle [it had a scratch], as well as every last inch of chrome on the grille, and removed one of each bulb so we can get new ones today while we are out in town.

Thinking about getting the 07+ style "T A H O E" lettering but not sure if that'll look okay.

Pictures will be uploaded a little later. This project is fun, I may be driving this Tahoe a lot as well after it's all done!

New bulbs [not HID yet, just for now]. Replaced: Parking, turn signals, drl, any front light except highs/lows, and all bulbs in tail light assemblies. BIG difference!

I'll post more pics as we go along. Tomorrow I will have some of the complete front assembled, after the grille is painted and dried.

Here are pics of the painted pieces, then the Tahoe when everything was assembled. When we were masking the grille, it seemed very difficult to cover the the pieces that were black, so we instead painted them white as well. If it gets to me, my dad says it'll be much easier to mask off the rest of the grille and paint those pieces back to black. Do you think it looks better like this, or would it look better with black pieces?

Another option would be to put a billet grill in.

I'm currently trying to find a "punch" grille, like the Denali's have.

I wish I could see the pictures. The work system will not access photobucket. When it's finished could you directly paste at least one before and after picture into this thread?

Sorry I can't. No matter how small I make the picture sizes, I always get a "file too large!" error.

Alright, this is a little old but no work was done since my last post. We have now applied the Z71 emblems. What was funny was that the dealer tried to tell us that the emblems never changed until the 2007+ models, even though we had an '06 Z71 with the newer emblems.

Next we plan on painting the rear bumper, and my dad had an idea of painting the running board white [and leave a strip of black for where I actually step]. I don't know if I like that idea yet but we'll give it a shot.

Yes, it's been awhile but we finally got around to painting the running boards, which I really like
We also fixed the rear windshield wiper as it was not putting out any fluid, turns out there was a kink in the hose. Now, however, the DRL's appear not to work [if ever]. The bulbs are fine and the fuse is not blown, so we can't figure this out.
Next to paint is the rear bumper and possibly the 2 panels behind the 3rd row windows, to make them body-matching like the Escalade.
